Embroidery workshops to learn how to embroider in Marseille!

Do you want to try hand embroidery but don't know where to start? At Studio Francosse, we have a solution for you! Come and participate in our embroidery classes at our workshop in Marseille.

What is an embroidery workshop?

Embroidery workshops: the best way to learn to embroider and become independent. Our workshops take place once or twice a month, for 2 hours in small groups of 4, and are specifically designed for beginners. During our embroidery workshops, you'll learn basic embroidery stitches and embroider your own 100% cotton t-shirt with the design of your choice.
All the necessary materials to learn to embroider will be provided: needle, hoop, scissors, t-shirts, threads… as well as a good cup of tea, and good cheer!
Furthermore, this could be an opportunity for you to meet us and discover a bit of what goes on behind the scenes at Francosse (we want to meet you too!). As for the price, it's €55 for adults and €50 for students.

The workshop's format

The first hour is devoted to learning the basics of embroidery:

• Preparing an embroidery (setting up a hoop, separating the threads, tying the knots…)

• Mastering the essential stitches: we first practice on fabric to learn how to make the backstitch, the chain stitch, the filling, the loop stitch and the knot stitch.

During the second hour, you will create your very first embroidery on a t-shirt:

• I will provide you with a 100% cotton t-shirt, black or white, from XS to XL. Or you can bring a garment or textile of your choice.

• You choose the design you want to embroider: a small special design from the Francosse workshop, your astrological sign, or an idea of ​​your own.

• We draw the design on your garment: I teach you the techniques for drawing on textiles

• And you take action! You embroider your t-shirt with the colors you want (I have 1000), and I help and guide you throughout your creation!

And after the embroidery workshop?

After trying different ways to learn embroidery, we believe this is the most effective. The workshops allow you to practice the stitches correctly in order to truly automate them.
After this workshop, you will be able to embroider independently and you can continue at home on many other textile materials.
